Case Study
The Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts were first started in Boston in the United States, when there was an idea to build a class hotel there. Later another branches of the hotel opened in New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Atlantic City, but by the time no one of these hotels were operating except the hotel in Boston. “The name of the hotel was taken from Europe under the name of Cesar Ritz who died in 1918” (Combining Luxury & Hospitality, 2011), when his wife did not stop her efforts in the development of hotels holding his name. The management of the hotel in the United States obtained the required permissions to use the name for Boston hotel. The hotel is providing standard of hospitality in a luxury hotel and maintaining the privacy of his guests. The Ritz-Carlton hotel logo was created by Cesar Ritz which is a mixture of the British royal seal and the logo of a financial backer.
Providing care and comfort for the guests is the company’s highest mission. This will be achieved by offering best personal service and facilities for the guests. I believe that the culture that the company follows and treating guests like royals will ensure success for them and will keep their customers, because in service sector the type of the service that you are offering is very important issue.
At the Ritz-Carlton hotel, they reach to customer satisfaction simply when the front line employees ensure welcoming guests with a warm greeting using the guest’s name, providing each guest with his needs. The more the customer feel satisfied the more word of mouth he will do, and by this they will keep and win new customers. Moreover the corporate strategy and values of the Ritz-Carlton hotel give them a great push to grow and maintain success.
They have achieved their first mission statement of being positive, supportive members of their communities and sensitive to the environment social responsibility program in helping children to get ready for the work. They contribute in training student with the necessary skills such as teamwork environmental responsibility and social skills that they will need in the future for their work. Also the Ritz-Carlton hotel contributes to in helping local community in the issues of: poverty, homelessness, and environmental conservation.
I think that the type of culture at the Ritz-Carlton hotel which caring about guests and employees is very successful because by this type of cutler is doing well because when they refer to the employees by our Ladies and Gentlemen they strongly believe that their employees are the most important resource in providing the valued service to their guests, and without them they will not achieve their goals, also it will help them to ensure excellence in customer service. The relationship between staff and the management is built based on principals of faith, openness, respect, honor and loyalty. By this strategy they will reach to the best use of each employee’s effort and talent which will ensure for the management the best customer service that they might offer for their guests.
I see that the drawbacks of such culture are very limited and depend on the type of employee’s himself. Some employees when they receive their rights they will slow down their productivity, but in general it is very limited. “In mid - 2006 the Ritz-Carlton hotel changed it culture of the Ritz-Carlton hotel to (don’t tell employees how to make guests happy), this change in the culture might come out because the company adjust its way of getting the outcome from the heavily perspectives” (Combining Luxury & Hospitality, 2011). They maintain this new culture by ensuring that the outcome is same in both cultures which let the customer feel wow when they receive the required service service. I think that creative employees will feel happy with this culture because they will feel free the welcome the guests with different ways of course it will be according to the protocol. Moreover by applying this culture new employee will learn how to deal with guests from the stuff and the will receive more training from them; it will be not compulsory to attend specific courses to know the culture.
In short, if I get the chance in future to work in a company applying the same culture of the Ritz-Carlton hotel I will accept. I believe I will ensure for myself a sustainable change and growth.

Evolution of the light bulb
The idea of light bulb invention goes back to thousands of years, when the main sources of lighting were candles and gas lamps. Several of inventers and companies from different countries attempt to bind a solution, which ended by remarkable evolution in the beginning of 1906 .
“In 1802, the scientist Warren De invented the first bulb light by connecting electricity through platinum coil in a tube, and due to the expense of the platinum this bulb light didn't last” (The History of the Light Bulb, 2011). Later scientists looked for a of filament that is available and not expensive like the previous one , when Joseph Wilson used the carbon paper but it produced dim light . The idea of this bulb light was improved by Thomas Eliot by using bamboo fiber filament. Mercury vapor, krypton gas, sodium vapor were used in improving the production of the bulb light till in 1906 when the tungsten filament was introduced in the bulb light production (The History of the Light Bulb, 2011).
Henry Woodward and Matthew Evans formed the shape of the bulb light. After various thoughts and attempts inventors did, they ended to the production of light bulb in 1920s, and from that time till today scientists didn't stop in developing this invention such as trying to produce lights with more energy and searching for other methods to save the power to save the environment .
In conclusion, Invention of light bulb is a creative process which joined a lot of efforts from different scientists. I believe that the invention of light bulbs has changed our life in a huge way, it made our life easier because we are not able to go anywhere without the light bulb, especially in the darkness.
